RAYLEIGH Lions Club raised funds for the community through their Santa and sleigh street collections in December.Irene Pracy, Honorary Treasurer of Rayleigh Lions, said: “We would like to thank the people of Rayleigh, Hockley and Hullbridge who donated £1,265.51 to their Santa and his sleigh street collections in December.All the money raised will go to local needy causes and projects in the community.
THE Rayleigh, Hadleigh and Thundersley districts Royal British Legion will hold a Poppy Appeal Fundraiser.The event, a Valentine’s Poppy Ball, will take place on Friday, February 14th at Saxon Hall Masonic Centre, Aviation Way, Southend.

World Day of Prayer
THE World Day of Prayer Service is to be held at Christ Church, U.R.C., Crown Hill, on Friday, March 6th, 10.30 am.This service is for everyone, both ladies and gentlemen, and takes the form of a service of thanksgiving, hymns, prayers and narration from the Women of Slovenia.
It usually lasts for about one hour. After the service all meet together with tea, coffee and cake. Please come along, and note that there is no parking at this church, drop off only, so do use town car parks.
